J.C. Lion’s Club Board Meeting August 11, 2016

The J.C. Lion’s Club met for the regular board meeting on August 11, 2016 at the Johnson City Country Club. Those in attendance were Lions, Steve Campbell, Ed Gibbons, Ken Gough, C.B. Willis, Tim Tapp, George Winton and Jerry Lonon.

The meeting was called to order by King Lion Steve Campbell.

PDG Ed Gibbons presented the financial report showing a checking balance of $22,257.41. Total inflow was $220.44 and outflow was -1,800.00.  The account balance began at $23,836.97.  Total liabilities and equity comes to $29,788.66.  A motion was made by Ed to accept the report and a second was made by George Winton.  All were in favor and the report was approved as presented.

Debbie Shipley was not present and therefore no financial report was issued by her. It was noted that her mother passed away at the end of July. The club will donate $50.00 to the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Control Center.

Ken Gough has sent emails to the J.C. Parks and Rec dept. regarding the Centennial Project at Lion’s Park but they have not responded with the final details. Ken also noted that Sept 24 is the date for the Roanoke Eyeglass Recycling trip.  He needs all eyeglass donations by September 1.

George Winton mentioned that it is time to kick off the Turtle Derby and distributed Turtle Derby Sales Sheets.

Tim Tapp mentioned the names of several members who have not been present at a meeting in months. It was noted that due to scheduling and job responsibilities that they are all accounted for but that they are missed when they can’t be with us.  It was mentioned that we remind each other of the importance of what we do here and the need for full participation by each club member.

As of this date, dues are up to date on all members and no one is in arrears.

Due to several members being gone in September it was noted that we need to cancel the September 15 meeting. A motion was made by Ken Gough with a second by George Winton that we cancel that meeting.  All were in favor.

With no further business to come before the board the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully Submitted,

Tim Tapp Secretary.
