Welcome to the website of the Johnson City Lions Club of Johnson City Tennessee, a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs! We proudly carry out the motto of the Lions:
Locally, regionally, nationally and worldwide, we serve the blind, deaf, sick and handicapped. The Lions Club is people of good will banded together to serve their fellow man in ways which, individually, we could not do alone. It is a cooperative effort: We share the load so that the load of the less fortunate will
The Lions is a service club, not a fraternal, business, social or political organization. The reward for the work we do is great; we enjoy the fellowship of some of the finest people in our community; we are warmed by the thanks of those we help; and we share in the knowledge that we are part of an organization renowned for its leadership in the efforts to address our community’s problems.
As of Sept.1 – The club has a new schedule until the end of the pandemic – regular meetings will be held the first Thursday of each month, and Board of Directors meeting on the second Thursday. Watch here for additional announcements. Read a statement from Lions International President Dr. Jung-Yul Choi.
King Lion Tim Tapp (l) and Past District Governor Ed Gibbons (r) welcome U.S. Army Major General (ret.) Gary Harrell, Johnson City native and ETSU graduate, to the club.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
It was cold on December 17 and 18, 2020, but the Lions lived up to their motto – We Serve! Above, Lion Ken Gough and future Lion (we hope) Sathvik Ramu do their best to stay warm and ring the bell for the Salvation Army at the Johnson City Mall. Merry Christmas!
Eyeglass Recycling – Johnson City Lions Club participated in the East Tennessee Lions’ semi-annual trip to the Eyeglass Recycling Center in Roanoke in October, 2019. Lion Doris Kaifa makes a fashion statement!
KIDSIGHT eye screenings continue throughout Johnson City, Washington County and Unicoi County schools and daycares. Above, Lion Don Raines performs a screening with our new camera, which gives an immediate indication if the client needs to see an eyecare specialist.
