The meeting was called to order at 12:21 p.m. by President and King Lion, Ken Gough.
The pledge was led by Clem Wilkes and the invocation prayer was said by PDG Lion Dennis Powell.
Lion Tamer, Lion Sterling Winn introduce Dr. Chris Gregg a professor at ETSU as our guest and announced that Lion Dr. Winton was the undisputed the winner of the drawing (although it was close) and he donated all his winnings to the Turtle Derby.
King Lion Gough introduced the Lion Secretary to report on the Semi-Annual Eyeglasses Recycling trip Saturday, April 2. Only two Lions from Johnson City attended and a total of 11 from District 12-N. Not enough for the work that needs to be done – more hands are needed so please plan on attending in the fall.
King Lion Gough assigned seven Lions to write articles for various pages on the Johnson City, TN. Webb site.
A very special honor was paid to PDG Dennis Powell – a silver chevron commemorating his 55 years as a Lion; guess they allowed toddlers to join back then. Congratulations Lion Dennis and don’t pay any attention to all the snarky remarks about your age, you’re about as young as you think you are which in your case is very young. Thanks for setting a great example for what a great Lion should be for the rest of us.

Our speaker today was Wanda Hall who program chairperson Lion Debbie Merritt introduced as about the best and most informed specialist in the reverse mortgage loan business in the Tri-cities area. Ms. Hall is a Senior Loan Officer with Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. in Kingsport and it didn’t take long for everyone to realize Lion Debbie was right. This lady knows what she’s doing. The meeting was adjourned at 12:59 PM – with minimal injuries.
Our next regular meeting will be two weeks from today Thursday April 21st
