The Johnson City Lions Club met for its regular meeting on Thursday Nov. 4, 2021, at 12 noon at the Johnson City Country Club. Present at the meeting were King Lion Steve Campbell, Lion Ken Gough, Lion Ed Gibbons and Guest, Sam Melchner, Lion Steve Brown, Lion George Winton, Lion Jerry Lonon, Lion Charles Green, Lion Don Raines, Lion Sen. Rusty Crowe, and Lion Doris Kaifa (Secretary).
The meeting was called to order by King Lion Steve Campbell. Lion Steve Brown asked the blessing. King Lion Steve Campbell welcomed Lion Senator Rusty Crowe to the meeting.
Lion George won the drawing and he donated the money to the Turtle Derby.
King Lion Steve Campbell presented an award to Lion George Winton from the Leader Dog for the Blind Foundation Tribute for being a true Lion – “We Serve”.

Lion George Winton give an overview of the Turtle Derby fundraiser in October.
The President asked for announcements.
Lion Ken Gough announced that the eyeglass packing & recycling will be held on November 13th at 9am in Gray. Everyone is encouraged to help out if you can.
Lion Ed announced that he will be doing an eye screening on Monday at Ashley Academy. Anyone interested in helping please contact Lion Ed Gibbons. He also announced that pecans are in. Anyone interested can pick up a box for sale.
Lion Ken Gough presented a report on the proposed expansion of the Tweetsie Trail from Elizabethton to Hampton in Carter County.
Our next meeting will be Nov 11, 2021.
